Paul Manafort: Aries/Ox - The Tireless Bulldozer

“The powerful Aries/Ox can wither a mountain in a halfhearted shrug. This is a mighty combination - doomed to achievement. - or just plain doomed period! This stalwart Aries character sallies forth into the world full of vigor and hope at a tender age.

The Ox, solid and diligent, carries young Aries, head high, sword drawn, slowly but surely toward serious, demanding goals. In their quiet, unassuming way, Aries/Oxen are secretly ruthless, yet they contribute in whatever manner they can to enhance other peoples' existence. They especially like to assist people they believe in. But when their ideals are threatened, so it is that Aries/Ox becomes disenchanted with life and its superficialities. "Where are the values of yesteryear?" wonders the embittered and finally alienated Aries/Ox declares: "I shall move to the remotest countryside. I’ll get an unlisted address. Who needs this phony baloney world?"

A celebrated example of Aries/Ox character is Charlie Chaplin (Aries/Ox 1889). Read his biography. Chaplin came from less than nothing—the streets of London. No money. No education. No serious parenting or direction. But the brave young Chaplin supplied his own direction. He got out on the boards and did his act. He was funny. But not everybody thought so at first. He had to work at it. Hard.

Chaplin finally went to Hollywood, made a few pictures and was hailed a genius. Then came the fifties, the witch hunts, the black lists, disloyal friends, paranoia and eventually a retreat—to Switzerland. Far away from the shady world of Hollywood fame and fortune. Manafort, too, got out. But not soon enough to avoid the fickle finger of fate.
